I found a "not so attractive" Christmas table decoration with a glass dome. I took out the original contents and turned it into a mini Christmas scene complete with tree ornaments and lights. I wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Fresh Fruit Cake for the holidays
This is not the kind of "fruit cake" you used to hate receiving as a gift over the holidays.
I took dozens of pictures over two days before one of them looked "almost" as good as the real thing. When the larger fruits were the right colors, the grapes and berries were too dark. When the grapes and berries were bright enough, all of the larger fruits had the same color.

Getting Ready For Fall
I took a small break from making miniatures and started again. This time I'm doing it for my own pleasure. |

Holiday Cakes in 80 degree weather
Even though it's 82 degrees at the beach here right now, I am getting ready for the Miniatures West Club "Miniature Fantasy" Show and Sale on February 14, 2015 in Culver City, California.

Grapes, grapes, grapes ......
For a while now, I have been trying to improve my ability to create "true to life" miniature grapes. I just discovered that part of my difficulty is there are over 5,000 different varieties of grapes. WOW !! Compare my latest attempt of miniature grapes to a real grape.

My "Book Box" is finally finished
My old/new project is finally completed – a “Book Box”. I’ve had the book for a few years but was not
sure what miniatures would work best.
With the Eiffel Tower on the cover, I finally decided to fill my Book
Box with French wine and cheese. I was pleasantly surprised how well the blue mold is so
evenly veined on the Bleu D’Auvergne cheese.
I may never be able to do it again.

New Project
I am working on a large project with several pieces. This is one part of the project showing Cabecou de Gramat French cheese, a bottle of wine and a chunk of Cheddar. Don't think about eating any of this because it is a MINIATURE.
When I used to fly for American Airlines I would have lay overs in Paris. One of my most fond memories was having French cheese and wine on the lawn by the Eiffel Tower. This takes me back to one of those special moments. (we were not supposed to drink wine there, ha, ha)

I'm Back (Again)
One of my favorite small meals is Lean Cuisine's Butternut Squash Ravioli. It inspired me to create this dish in miniature and to rejoin the wonderful world of miniatures again.
